Keuka College has once again been included in U.S. News & World Report’s annual assessment of the nation’s best colleges and universities, continuing a tradition of recognition for the College’s academic performance and dedication to student success.
This year, Keuka College is included among the 171 top institutions across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and six other northeastern states in the magazine’s 2025 Best Colleges rankings. U.S. News evaluates nearly 1,500 colleges nationwide, scoring them on a wide range of factors, including graduation rates, faculty resources, and academic reputation.
A Commitment to Social Mobility
Keuka College graduates a substantial number of Pell Grant recipients.
In addition to being recognized for overall academic excellence, Keuka College earned a spot as one of U.S. News’ Top Performers for Social Mobility, ranking No. 109 out of 165 colleges and universities in the North. This designation highlights the College’s success in enrolling and graduating students from lower-income families, many of whom receive Federal Pell Grants.
“Economically disadvantaged students are less likely than others to finish college,” according to U.S. News. “But some colleges are more successful than others at advancing social mobility by enrolling and graduating large proportions of disadvantaged students awarded with Pell Grants.”
Pell Grants are awarded to students with significant financial need, typically from families earning less than $50,000 annually. Keuka College has long been committed to supporting this student population through targeted financial aid, academic support, and a focus on holistic development.
“More than 40% of our incoming students—both on-campus and online—are Pell Grant recipients,” said Pete Bekisz, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing at Keuka College. “Our ongoing efforts to provide tailored resources for these students likely contributed to our recognition from U.S. News & World Report.”
A Track Record of Improving Students' Economic Status
The New York Times is among other publications that have cited the College's success in improving the economic outlooks of its graduates.
Keuka College’s track record in helping graduates improve their economic status has been recognized by other national publications, as well. Washington Monthly recently included Keuka College in its 2024 list of Best Bang for the Buck Colleges in the Northeast, which focuses on colleges that excel in providing affordable, marketable degrees to students from non-wealthy backgrounds.
The New York Times has also praised the College for its success in fostering economic mobility, placing it in the top 10% nationally for helping students rise between 20% to 40% in income brackets after graduation.
